  • Youth Ministry

The Youth Ministry of LHBCB exists to bring God glory by ministering to the Youth of Bryan/College Station. We do this through one-on-one discipleship, Summer Camp, Leadership Camp, and by inviting youth into our lives with the purpose of “doing life” with them, and encouraging them to walk closer with Christ. Now more than ever in the history of this nation we have a large number of youth leaving the Church in droves to follow the world and it’s ways. We stand as a light in a dark place showing these kids that there is a better way offered to us in living our lives fully surrendered to Christ.

    Expectations of Leaders

    • Regular fellowship, accountability, and worship with other believers. (Acts 2:42-47, Hebrews 3:12-13, James 5:16)
    • Prayer for the staff of Living Hope Bryan, the other volunteers, the students, and yourself. (Matthew 6:6, Matthew 26:41, Mark 1:35, 1 Timothy 2:1-2)
    • Attend the monthly volunteer meetings and the events you have committed to for the ENTIRE school year. (Matthew 5:37)
    • Periodic evaluations conducted by the Youth Ministry Leader or Intern for encouragement, accountability, and, if necessary, correction. (2 Corinthians 13:5, Philippians 1:3-5, 2 Timothy 2:24-26)

    Rules for Leaders

    • Before God, each volunteer must attest that he or she had repented of sin and confessed Jesus as both Lord and Christ. (Luke 13:5, Romans 10:9-10, Acts 2:36-39)
    • Each volunteer must be a member of LHBCB. (Acts 2:42, Hebrews 3:12-13)
    • An official LHBCB Background Check must be on file for each volunteer. (1 Timothy 3:10)
    • Volunteers will never be alone with a student of the opposite sex. (1 Corinthians 10:13, 1 Thessalonians 4:3-4, 5:22)
    • Consumption of alcoholic beverages (beer, wine or liquor) is forbidden for all volunteers. (1 Corinthians 10:23)
    • Dress, for both guys and girls, need to be modest. If you’re not sure it’s NOT ok. (1 Timothy 2:8-9, 1 Peter 3:3-4)

    Expectations for Youth (6th – 12th grades)

    • You are expected to be able to sit through a Saturday/Sunday/Wednesday service while taking notes and paying attention.
    • While someone else is talking you are to give him or her your full attention
    • You are expected to meet 3-5 new people every weekend and at all Youth Events. If you claim to know everyone then find someone who does not and help them.

    How to get involved

First we would ask that you spend some time in prayer and fasting to seek the Lord as to whether or not He is leading you to serve in youth ministry. After you have done this and have gotten confirmation from Christ that this is the place where you are to serve then you can e-mail Carlos Carpio at or send him a message on the City.
