The Gospel is the basis of the Christian faith. We base everything we are on it, and without it we are utterly lost. God is perfect, holy and righteous, worthy of all our adoration and worship, but we have failed to honor him and worship him with all of our lives and our hearts. All of us have sinned against this perfect God and are deserving of eternal punishment for rebelling against Him. Every person who has ever lived (save Jesus) is deserving of hell, eternal separation from God because of our sin against him, which is terrible news.
The Gospel, or the good news, is that Jesus Christ made a way for us to be restored to God, to have our sins forgiven and paid for, and for us to be able to be with God now and forever. He accomplished this by His work of dying on the cross where we all deserve to die for our sins, his blood being received as an acceptable offering for all of our sins. But He didn’t stay dead! On the third day he rose from the grave victorious over sin and death! The only way we can be restored to God forever, is by trusting in Jesus Christ, that His payment for our sins was enough, we stop trying to earn our salvation by being a good person, but instead trust Jesus Christ to save us from our deserved punishment. The bible says that “For our sake He made Him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.” (2 Corinthians 5:21) What this means is that Jesus Christ who was sinless took all of our sin on Himself, yet at that moment He put all his righteousness, or right-standing before God, on us.
Our great desire and hope is that you would trust in the wonderful Gospel of Jesus Christ, and give your life to Him! If you want to know more please contact us and we will schedule a time to meet with you personally. If you want to be saved by Jesus Christ it is as simple as believing the above, that you are a sinner in need of a savior, and that Jesus Christ is the perfect sin sacrifice, now tell Him those things by praying or just talking to Him, and commit to live the rest of your life for Him! Part of growing in your faith as a Christian is connecting to a local body of believers and we would love to have you join us at Living Hope Bryan for a church service so that we can love you as Jesus has.
